The GO Zone:The Time is NOW!!

"And He told them this parable: 'The ground of a certain rich man
produced a good crop. He thought to himself, "What shall I do? I have no
place to store my crops."
The he said, "This is What I'll do. I will tear my barns and there I
will build bigger ones and there I will store up my grain and my goods. And
I'll say to myself, 'You have plenty of good things laid up for many years,
Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.' "
But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be
demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'"

A few months ago, I preached my last sermon. Well not literally of course, but I preached a sermon called Dave Weiss' Last Sermon. It was based on the above scripture and a dream I had. In the dream, I dreamed I was awake in my bed and I heard the voice of the Lord say, "Come Dave, it's time to come home." I remember vividly giving the Lord my list of excuses about why it couldn't possibly be my time, essentially because I had too much to do. You see I failed to remember the most important thing, I don't live on my timeline, I live on His timeline. I'm not supposed to be working my plan, I'm supposed to be living God's plan.
When I awoke from that dream, everything was different. There was a new sense of urgency, an urgency to share the Gospel like never before. Brothers and sisters this is an uncertain life and this day will be someone's last chance to hear the Gospel. It could also be your last day to share the Gospel. When that day comes, it won't matter if you don't have your new program finished, it won't matter how much money is left in your budget, or how far your building program has come or anything else. The only thing that will matter is what you did with the Gospel and with Jesus. The time is now.
Don't wait for someone else to share the Gospel. You do it! Don't wait for a more opportune moment if you're feeling the Lord lead you to share. Do it now! Don't see your limitations, see God's power to work through you. Share Jesus every chance you get, take advantage of every opportunity. Ministers, preach with a sense of urgency knowing that the kingdom of God is at hand. At times in ministry, we tend to throw programs at people, and while programs are wonderful and fun and sometimes highly effective, the most effective thing we can do is just relate to people, one on one and share the story of how Jesus changed us. As ministers maybe the best thing we can do for our congregations is remind them that they are all charged with the same call, the call to go. In this way, the Lord will multiply our efforts and genuine revival will spring forth.
I was reading just the other day about a microchip that can be injected under the skin (we'll see more on this in a later column) that will make you able to be scanned so that you can buy something with the wave of a hand. Friends, this could very well be at least a precursor to the mark of the beast. The time is short. This is the day of the Lord! This could be your last chance. The time is now! Will you go?
